Ms. Grace Gardner is the Director of Vocal Music at Carteret High School, since Fall 2023. She received her Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in voice from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
Ms. Gardner has performed as a choral artist in collegiate and professional settings in the tri-state area and internationally. As a member of the Rutgers Kirkpatrick Choir, she participated in the International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf. She is also an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and National Association for Music Education (NAfME), frequently participating in regional and national conferences and festivals.
Under Ms. Gardner's direction, the Carteret HS choirs have earned superior ratings at various festivals and competitions. Varsity Vocals, an a cappella group, progressed to the semifinal round of the ICHSA during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, even earning the recognition of "Outstanding Soloist." Varsity Vocals was also featured on NBC4/Telemundo 47 after placing in the top three finalists of their Holiday Singing Competition.
Ms. Gardner is additionally the Vocal Music Director for the Drama Club Program at Carteret High School. She has music directed in collegiate and educational settings, with her students and herself receiving nominations at the Central Jersey Marquee Awards and Papermill Playhouse Awards.
