Class Procedures/Expectations

Materials Needed:

  • 2” - 3" three ring binder for handouts/printouts

  • Loose leaf paper or spiral notebook for notes (as needed)

  • Pencils or pen

  • Headphones or earbuds you can use with the Chromebook (in class)

Class Expectations:

1. Be prompt.

· Be in your seat with all materials out when the bell rings. If virtual, check email and log into Google Classroom daily to get assignments.

· Follow instructions the first time they are given.

2. Be prepared.

· Bring all materials to class every day.

3. Be polite.

· Treat every person in this classroom with dignity and respect.

4. Pay attention.

· Do not distract yourself or others from learning.

· Listen actively, remain alert, and stay on task.

5. Follow all school and county rules.

Grading Policy:

Your grade will be calculated as follows:

Classwork/Homework: 20%

Quizzes: 30%

Tests: 50%

Homework:

Homework is given to reinforce concepts learned in class. It is your responsibility to make sure it is finished by the due date. This is the only way you will know what you don’t understand and what questions you need to ask me about before we move on to the next topic.

Make-Up Work:

Obtaining all make-up work is the responsibility of the student. This includes all homework, classwork, and assessments. All notes and assignments will be posted on Google Classroom. Since most assessments will not be posted and will be timed, we will need to work out a time that works for both of us for you to make up missed quizzes and tests.

Remediation:

I am available from 2:35 - 3:05 each day if students need additional help. In addition to after school, I am available before school from 7:00-7:30 in my classroom.

Cheating:

Cheating is unacceptable.

Examples of cheating:

  • Copying someone else’s work in or outside of class

  • Letting someone else copy your work

  • Giving answers to classmates

  • Using Photomath or any other phone app to do your work.

  • Using any Internet source that solves problems for you during quizzes or tests.

Consequences of cheating:

  • Zero on assignment

  • Unsatisfactory conduct grade for the 6-weeks

  • Notification of parent / guardian and administration

Chromebooks:

Each student is expected to have their school issued Chromebook charged and ready to go each day! This is how you will access your assignments, submit your attendance, and communicate with your teachers.
