I am so grateful to be your librarian!
As a graduate of East Carteret, I have a connection to the community and love of Beaufort. Band, musicals, and technology club filled my days as I walked the halls and I have fond memories as a student here. I am thankful to be back home and be part of your Mariner experience.
Stop by the library, get to know the space, and look for your next favorite book!
I studied Advertising and Graphic Design and have a Bachelor in Fine Art from UNC-Charlotte. After graduating, I worked as a photographer and graphic designer before becoming an art teacher, then a STEM teacher. I went to ECU (go Pirates!) to earn a Master of Library Science (MLS) and become a school librarian. It was the best career decision that I have made. I am passionate about encouraging students to read and to be smart digital citizens. In order to learn even more about education and to understand further understand theory and research, I joined Appalachian State as a virtual student to study educational leadership.
I enjoy listening to music, reading, and making art. I have been trying to learn to play the mandolin, but I need to practice more! When I can, I like to go camping and hiking. It is rejuvenating to spend time away from everything. My newest interest is bookbinding because it combines my love of art and literature.
