8th Grade Chattanooga Trip: The deposit due date for the 8th Grade Trip (May 10th - 13th) is quickly approaching! The 1st payment is due Sept. 25th (non-refundable). This should be paid via Infinite Campus Parent Portal for a student to be placed on the roster to go. Students will receive a trip info/contract packet once the deposit is made. Please email Mrs. Ussery with questions at kim.ussery@carrolltoncityschools.net.
7th Grade Jekyll Island Trip: The 7th grade trip to Jekyll Island (January 27th - 29th) is officially open! Payment secures your spot and can be made on the Infinite Campus Store. The trip is scheduled for January 27-29th and the total cost is $400. Spots are limited and already starting to fill up so grab a friend and get signed up today! Don't miss out on this fun trip at the beach with your friends!

CMS Read-a-thon: Something exciting is coming, our Read-A-Thon launches September 28th! 📚🎉 Here's how it works: Kids read. You support. We raise BIG! 💰 Watch for your child’s registration link coming soon. This contains instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress. We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills. We hope EVERYONE participates.
CMS Morning Broadcast: can be viewed on YouTube each school day and features students and staff! Please subscribe to our channel @cmstrojans, to be notified when the daily announcements are available! Our broadcast is interactive and we have launched our Hub! Go to http://trojan.gold/broadcasthub - from there you can complete student shoutout requests, submit ideas or questions to us, let us know about your birthday, and submit videos and pictures for the Broadcast. The school announcements and At-a-Glance sites are also linked on the Hub. Please ask your teachers to add it to your Google Classroom if they have not done so already!
CLUBS / SPORTS RELATED:
eSports Meeting: This year's first eSports meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 16th after school in room 815 in the new building. We'll be trying out to see who makes each team, so bring your A game! There will also be a parent meeting immediately after practice at 6pm. Email graham.satterfield@carrolltoncityschools.net if you have questions.
Science Bowl: Tryouts are in Mrs. Rule’s classroom, Room 727 From 3:35 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 14th, and Tuesday, September 15th. You can learn more by checking out the Science Bowl flyers hanging in the halls or by talking to 6th grade science teacher, Mrs. Rule or 8th grade math teacher Ms. Jackson. If you love science, math, and a good challenge, Science Bowl could be the team for you! Come try out!
CMS Academic Bowl Tryouts: Callbacks will take place on Monday, September 14th from 3:45 PM to 4:30 PM. Students were notified regarding a callback last Friday. If you make the team, registration is just $30 (scholarships are available)! Regular practices will take place every Wednesday in Room #823 from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM.
Yearbook Club: Invitations were sent out by email last Friday, so be sure to check your email to see if you got in! If you received an invitation, our first meeting will be on Sept. 23rd at 7:15 AM in Mrs. Bivins’ class, Room 810. Don’t forget to pay your club dues before the meeting and use the code in your email to join our Google Classroom. That’s where you’ll find important updates and messages throughout the year.
FCA Meeting: FCA for 6th grade will be this Friday, September 18th at 7:55 am in the Media Center. We will continue to meet based on grade level this year - so make sure you listen for your grade-levels day on the announcements or check for dates on our Google Classroom.
