INFO/NEWS:

• Performing Arts presents "Just Sing": You are invited to attend the Performing Arts concert ‘Just Sing’ this Wednesday evening, at the Mabry Arts Center. Show starts at 6:30 pm and admission is FREE. We hope to see everyone there!

• Summer Reading 2025: This year’s summer reading challenge is Color Our World Summer Reading 2025. There are prizes based on your age group, more information can be found on this flyer, along with the registration link that goes live on May 27th.

• Media Center: Beginning Monday, May 12th, the media center will be closed to students for check-outs. The last day to complete AR points/Beanstack Challenges is Tuesday, May 13th! Our reward day is Thursday May 15th!  The end of school is near and all library books and materials must be returned by Friday, May 16th. Lost or Unreturned book fees will be added to Infinite Campus after the last day of school.

• XC Interest Meeting: We will hold a Cross Country interest meeting May 15th in Coach Ebensberger's classroom at 7:30 am.

• CMS Morning Broadcast: can be viewed on YouTube each school day and features students and staff! Please subscribe to our channel @cmstrojans, to be notified when the daily announcements are available! Our broadcast is interactive and we have launched our Hub! Go to http://bit.ly/broadcasthub - from there you can complete student shoutout requests, submit ideas or questions to us, and submit your trivia answers or votes quickly! The school announcements and At-a-Glance sites are also linked on the Hub. Please ask your teachers to add it to your Google Classroom if they have not done so already!

• Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will open January 21 for grades K - 12. The pre - K lottery will be March 3 - 7. To learn more, click HERE.

CLUBS / SPORTS RELATED:

• Softball tryouts: Due to the wet field conditions, CMS softball tryouts on Monday, May 12th will be held in the CMS gym from 4-5:15 p.m. You must have a current physical & athletic release to try out. Must have tennis shoes for gym floor & a glove to try out Monday. Tryouts for girls currently in 5th-7th grades will be held at regular times on May 13 - 14th from 4:30 - 6:15 pm at East Carroll Softball Complex (410 North Lake Dr, Carrollton).  In order to tryout, you must be academically eligible, have a current physical and an athletic release completed before tryouts start.

• Diamond Challenge: Test your baseball skills on May 18th at Cole Field at Carrollton High School. The Diamond Challenge is open to ages 8 through 14, with age group sessions, all starting at 4 PM. $40 registration, you can scan the QR code to register, the flyer is linked here!

• CMS Tennis Tryouts: If you are interested in trying out for CMS Tennis team, check out the flyer and fill out this form before May 7th. Tryouts are May 12 - 14, from 3:45 - 5:10 pm at the CCS Tennis Courts.

• Flag Football Tryouts: Girls Middle School Flag Football try-outs will be held on May 12 - 14 from 4:00 - 5:30 pm, you must have a current physical on file to try-out. Middle school tryouts are for current 5th - 7th grade girls. If you are interested in trying out, see Mrs. Whitfield in room 403 for a tryout information sheet, (also linked here) if you want to attend. There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:45 pm in the CMS Media Center.

• B.R.O.T.H.E.R. and S.I.S.T.E.R.S: The EOY (End of Year) Celebration for B.R.O.T.H.E.R. and S.I.S.T.E.R.S Clubs will be on Friday, May 16th, from 2 - 3 pm in the Media Center.
