• CMS Reads: Books & Boos Fundraiser (benefiting the media center) ends October 31st. Students will share their Beanstack donation page with family and friends and earn donations as they log their reading minutes. Our goal is to raise $5,000! • Red Ribbon Week starts this week! This year’s theme is “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug-Free!” Join in the fun and show your spirit each day!  Monday: Wear Red to kick off Red Ribbon Week!  Tuesday: Represent your favorite team with a Jersey Day!  Wednesday: Hat Day – top off your outfit with your favorite hat!  Thursday: Go wild with Tacky or Mismatched Outfits!  Friday: End the week with school-appropriate Halloween costumes (no masks, please).  Let’s all show our support for making healthy, drug-free choices!

• Yearbooks: Just a few more days left to order your 2025–2026 Carrollton Middle School Yearbook for $55. Prices increase after October 31st. Prices go up the longer you wait, so secure yours now! Quantities are limited.

• SALT is selling Boo Bags in the mornings during Homeroom through October 29th for $5 each. These bags will be delivered on the morning of Halloween to students in their homerooms. All money will be used to support local families at Christmas so please buy a BOO bag or two!

• Veterans Day Program 2025: We're collecting names of your family members who are serving or have served in the U.S. military to include in our Veterans Day program on Nov. 11. To include someone, please fill out the form linked here for each veteran. Only those who complete the form will be included in the program. Please submit names by 3:15 pm on Thursday, Oct. 30. Email Colonel Farr at mike.farr@carrolltoncityschools.net with any questions.

• 8th Grade Tribute Ads: Now’s the time to celebrate your 8th grade student with a yearbook ad dedication! Go to http://bit.ly/cmsyearbook26 to create an ad honoring your child before the deadline.

• Student Candids / Sports: We need your photos (candids, friends, sports, clubs) for the yearbook and for display during lunch on our cafeteria screens. Email them directly to cms.yearbook@carrolltoncityschools.net or submit as many as you like using this link: http://bit.ly/cmsyearbookpics26.

• CMS Morning Broadcast: can be viewed on YouTube each school day and features students and staff! Please subscribe to our channel @cmstrojans, to be notified when the daily announcements are available! Our broadcast is interactive and we have launched our Hub! Go to http://bit.ly/broadcasthub - from there you can complete student shoutout requests, submit ideas or questions to us, and submit your trivia answers or votes quickly! The school announcements and At-a-Glance sites are also linked on the Hub. Please ask your teachers to add it to your Google Classroom if they have not done so already!

• Trojan U: Students, need something fun to do after school? Come and join Trojan University with your friends or even meet new friends. During Trojan University you can receive help with your homework, receive academic enrichment, participate in the fine arts and participate in educational community service. Snacks are provided as well as bus transportation. To receive an application see Mr. Dukes in room 905 or see Ms. Brownson in room 412.  We look forward to seeing you at Trojan University!

• Back-to-School Guide: This one-stop-shop gives you all the important information you need to make sure the year starts off right! From Important Dates, IC Portal Help, and even our new step-up guides for each school, it all can be found here. 

CLUBS / SPORTS RELATED:

• DoubleGood Popcorn: Beta Club is selling delicious DoubleGood Popcorn this week to raise funds for club events, convention, and community service projects! Members need to create a store on the DoubleGood app or website and have their parents share it on social media as many times as possible! Beta Members that create a store and share the link need to stop Mrs. Lane's room (425) or Mrs. Shoemake's room (733) to get a sweet treat this week! There will be a raffle and prizes for our top sellers!

• Girls Wrestling: Please complete the interest form linked here if you are interested in being on the girls wrestling team.

• FCA Meetings will be weekly on Fridays at 7:48 am, in the Media Center. We have had so many students attending our meetings that we have to split it up. For the month of October, the meetings are as follows: October 31st: 6th grade. 

• GA Junior Beta Club Convention  Location: Savannah, Georgia Dates: Thursday, December 4 – Saturday, December 6, 2025 Cost: Approximately $500 per student Payment Online: RevTrak (QR code available on flyer)  Remaining Payment Deadlines:  $200 payment due October 26, 2025  $200 final payment due November 21, 2025  Thank you for supporting your child’s involvement in Junior Beta Club. • Gymnastics: As you may have heard, Carrollton Middle School is starting a gymnastics team. This program will NOW be offered to current 6th, 7th AND 8th graders. Program details are still being set into place and more information will be released in the coming months.  If you have gymnastics or tumbling experience, please fill out the Interest Form linked here. 

• Carrollton Trojans Baseball Fall Hitting League: Attention all baseball players! Join us this October for the Carrollton Trojans Fall Hitting League.
