Class of 2025
This page includes everything current 8th graders need to select courses for 9th (freshmen) year that meet graduation requirements and career-related interests.
Beginning in 9th grade, students start exploring opportunities available for them after high school. This exploration will happen through meetings with the school counselor as well as use of the Naviance program. As students develop their plans for the future, we develop a plan to support their individual goals.
To ensure that students are prepared for the journey beyond high school, students create an Educational Career Plan (ECP). This plan is a roadmap of the four years a student spends at Liberty High School and is tailored to the needs of the student. The ECP looks at where a student wants to be following graduation and seeks to provide a map for courses and programs that will support them in becoming college and career ready.
WELCOME LETTER from Mr. Goncz, Principal
Dear Parents / Guardians of the class of 2025,
As we approach the midpoint of this school year, plans are already being made for next year’s schedule. An important component of that planning is our course selection process. As a parent of an incoming 9th grade student, we believe it is important to provide a means for you to be an integral part of planning for your student’s course requests as well as their successful transition to high school.
Core academic teachers at Oklahoma Road have made course and level recommendations for students in their classes. The teacher recommendations will be shared with you as valuable input in making scheduling decisions. Counselors from Liberty High School visited virtually Oklahoma Road Middle School this week and met with 8th grade students. They provided an overview of graduation requirements and guided them through the beginning of the course request process.
As a “newcomer” to the orientation process, you are cordially invited to our 8th grade parent information night on Wednesday, February 10 to be held virtually. The night will consist of presentations from each academic department to give parents an overview of all the course options available to students as they proceed through their years at LHS.
Please visit our course request website at https://sites.google.com/carrollk12.org/lhscourserequests/home for more detailed information about the course request process.
Also please visit the LHS info page at https://sites.google.com/view/lhsinfopage/home for information about LHS and to begin getting acclimated to the high school experience.
We look forward to welcoming our incoming 9th graders (Class of 2025) to Liberty High School and working with you to plan for their success.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kenneth J. Goncz Mrs. Meghan Brown Mr. Todd Hicks
