Flower & Jazz Festival: May 11th 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

The Westminster Flower and Jazz Festival is an annual event held in Downtown Westminster the Saturday before Mother’s Day. This downtown street fair features local nurseries offering a variety of plants, flowers, and shrubs for purchase; food vendors, great entertainment on three stages; and over 200 craft and retail vendors.

The City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department is seeking volunteers age 18+ on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 9 AM - 4:30 PM. Please plan to attend the whole duration of these hours.



Downtown Sykesville: Location Millard Cooper Park

Sykesville Cinema:  All movies begin at Sunset June 8th, July 13th, August 10th, September 14th and October 12th

Concerts in the Park: 4:30pm arrival concert is 5-7pm Dates: September 5th, 7th and 28th.

Lions Club Mission: The primary mission of the Lions is to serve the community, which they do through outreach of many kinds. They collect and distribute medical equipment to those in need, they organize many community events throughout the year, and for Finksburg Baseball, they provide a ballpark at no cost.

The Gate House Museum, located in Millard Cooper Park in Sykesville, accepts students in grades 7-12 as well as adult volunteers. Volunteers may assist in research, exhibit development, events preparation such as crafts programs, video production (in-house and alongside the Community Media Center) on historically-relevant themes,  and social media advertising and outreach. Interested students should apply in person at the Gate House or email gatehouse@sykesville.net with the subject "Student Service Learning."
