PTSO Announcements

April PTSO Updates

Thank you to all our volunteers this school year! We could still use volunteers for our remaining Kona Ice days in April and May. If you are interested email us at ithica.ptso@gmail.com.

March PTSO Updates

PTSO Color Run is coming April 2!

Sign up flyers went home in Tuesday folders last week. Deadline to register is tomorrow, March 16! Cost is $15 a student. Race will be held during school April 2.

February PTSO Updates

Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day will look a little different this year. We are going to do pre-orders instead of having the kids come down to get them. The students will be getting a letter home tomorrow, February 2nd, in the Tuesday folders. The letter will have a form for the kids to fill out for candy grams. It will ask the senders name and then the recipients name, grade and Homeroom. We will collect these forms each day from Homeroom, fill them and then hand them out just like if the kids would have stood in line to place the order. We are trying to limit the kids gathering and to still be able to do this for the school, this is the best option this year. You have items that are .50 and $1

Kona ice will be next Wednesday, February 10th. As always, thank you for your support and working with us on this crazy year.

OUR GOAL:

This year we have used the money we have been saving to purchase picnic tables to help with spacing and alternative lunch eating areas for classes. With the remainder of the year, we are focusing on raising money to provide the school with an additional playground that will also be ADA approved. We are very excited about this opportunity for our students. Be on the lookout for upcoming information on how you as a family or a local business can step up and help with this goal. Thank you so much and we look forward to continuing to make Ithica the IT School.

October 5, 2020

Hey thanks for everybody logging on tonight for our virtual PTSO meeting. There’s just a couple things that we want to give a shout out to. The PDF so it has been saving for the last two years to be able to buy playground equipment for the track area to give the kids more places to play since the 4th and 5th grade have to share playground time. It was going to work out even better this year since we had to space kids out so much. So some of the playground equipment is coming, just having lag in shipping right now but it is. We have a goal and will be reaching out to our community partners soon to see about helping Ithica to obtain that goal. We have also inquired about adding a basketball pad and four square areas next to the track as well to give the kids a place to go when the rain makes a swamp on our current playgrounds. We were able to go ahead and get the picnic tables to put around the school. Mrs. Jones had asked if we would be able to get some tables for making lunchtime a little easier so the kids wouldn’t be bound to eating in their classroom all the time. We provided 6 of the metal tables and 6 wood tables. We also bought vinyl and covered all the wood tables so that each surface can we wiped down after the kids eat so other classes can come behind them. We are doing our best to keep the germs at bay.

This year is different for sure. We will not be able to do a trail of treats but instead are in the process of making a trail of trunks for the kids. It is Oct. 29th from 5:30-7 and will be in the front parking lot and around the track area. We are going to do our best to bring fun to the kids. More information will come home about that in the next few weeks. Ptso is looking for volunteers for that event. If you are at all interested in being able to help, these are the areas that we are in need.
