In the Ready Writing Contest, the students are given two hours to write expository compositions. They have a choice between two prompts, each an excerpt from literature, publications (past and present) or speeches.
What do you do in Editorial Writing? In editorial writing you will write an article that states the newspaper's stance on a particular issue. Basically it is a persuasive essay that offers a solution to a problem.
For the writing events, participants do not go out of town on weekends to compete. A date is selected and our school will hold the competition for our participants and mail off the entries. Results will be announced at the District meet.
