From the CHS Course of Studies Guide: This course will introduce students to the ideas that have shaped the development of our nation from colonial times to the present. Students will leave this course with the knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective citizen of the United States. Students in this course will take the AP U.S. History exam in May which offers students the opportunity to earn college credit. The course will emphasize the themes recommended by the College Board in order to help students understand the “big picture.” Successful completion of this course will include an oral history project and a formal research paper. Prerequisite: Successful completion of U.S. History I

From the CHS Course of Studies Guide: This course introduces students to the field of psychology. Students will be introduced to the different approaches psychologists take to the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. Students will come away from this class with an understanding of how psychologists think and view the world. Students will have the option of taking the AP exam if interested.
