This shows how being overworked is actually very harmful and can create real health issues that are serious. Many workers often don’t realize that pushing yourself too hard is worse, because it makes you less focused, more tired and drowsy, and decision-making speed. This affects one’s productivity and provokes dangerous mental health issues.
This source helped deepen my understanding of just how damaging hustle culture can be. I used to assume that burnout was just fatigue or stress, but the article explains that it’s actually a real condition caused by constant pressure at work and has harmful effects on one’s health. What surprised me the most is the large scale of burnout experiences, with very common symptoms like exhaustion and constantly being negative. This made me completely rethink the idea that hustle culture is harmless and just a trend, as it can actually hurt people. One thing I hadn’t thought about before is how companies can make employees sick by expecting such high performance and nonstop productivity. Reading this made me see that hustle culture isn’t really about motivation, but it’s about the impossible expectations that can be damaging to employees over time.
