Yes! You can submit new original works as well as any existing piece of work as long as it was created one year or less from the submission due date and meets the Media Requirements for each category. You can also modify or mash-up any existing media you’ve created.
Yes! Students can submit up to two pieces with no more than one unique submissions in the same category.
No. Although some productions might fit in multiple categories, each piece of work can only be submitted to one category. If the judges feel like your work should be moved to a different category, we will inform you that we are making that change before the results are announced.
Yes! Multiple students may submit a piece of work as a “team entry”, but you may not have more than four people designated as a production team. Each team submission counts toward the submission limit for each member of the team.
We strongly prefer videos in MOV or MP4 format. Videos should be at least HD quality (1080p) but UltraHD (4k) also works. If your editing gives you the option to set the compression level, we encourage you to use the H.264 codec to give your video the best quality at the lowest file size. Note: You will not be scored higher if your video is shot and presented in 4k, but you will be scored lower if your video is below 1080p (like 720p or 480). Luckily, almost all smartphones and video cameras now capture and export media at 1080p or better.
All submitters will receive an email updating the status of their submission within 2-3 weeks before the festival. Please keep up to date with your email and save the event date in your calendar whether your film is OR isn't selected. All are welcome to attend the festival!
Please refer to the "FF25" page (above) to see the events program along with logistical information about how to arrive at the event.
This year's theme and recommended dress is detailed in the "FF25" page above. We strongly recommend dressing in the theme as the whole event will be decorated and run in tune with the event theme.
