AVID is a program that began in the early 1980s in  San Diego, CA to support students who wanted to go to college and needed extra supports to get themselves there. Now, AVID is nationwide and serves students all over the world. Our goal is to support students, who may be first generation college students, achieve their dreams of attending a 4-year university.  

College can be for everyone if you want it to be. We support all students in their post secondary goals whether that is a 4-year school, community college, vocational training or military service. We work with students to develop their foundations and values to determine a post secondary path to their career future and goals.
