SCHS 2020-21 Reopening Guide
Students & Families
Students & Families
On Tuesday, February 16th - SCHS will transition to a In Person Cohort Model. Program Description: Students who attend will be assigned a “homeroom” teacher and will participate in their current Distance Learning schedule from their homeroom class. Students will be expected to bring their chromebook, chromebook charger and headphones each day in order to participate in virtual learning. Students will be required to log in and participate in each of their virtual classes. The homeroom teachers will be teaching their own distance learning classes virtually while simultaneously supervising the students in their homeroom. It is important to understand that homeroom teachers will not be actively engaged in direct instruction or support with their homeroom students, as the teachers will need to continue to teach their Distance Learning classes online from the homeroom classroom. This is a supervision model, not an instructional or intervention model. This model targets students who may benefit from the structure of reporting to the classroom each day and engaging in Distance Learning from a safe space with consistent WiFi. Your student may be a good candidate for this program if they meet any of the following criteria: failing courses, credit deficiency, lack of engagement, Special Education student, English Learner, social-emotional or mental health concerns, need for a more structured environment, or need consistent WiFi.
Take a few minutes to review this video of Assistant Principals Robertson & Harrington, along with some of our ASB students, highlighting some of the important safety reminders as we plan to return students to in person instruction.
