Kristin Allen-Benes is a classically trained violist and string instrument enthusiast, born and raised in the Chicagoland area. Kristin graduated with a BM in viola performance from Western Michigan University where they studied under Igor Fedotov. 

Since graduating they have gone on to work in arts education and continue performing as a freelance musician in southern California, working at Idyllwild Arts, Double Peak School, and within Carlsbad Unified School District. 

Professional experience includes the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra, The Moscow Ballet, Early Music Michigan, the West Michigan Opera Project, Zene Strings, MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra, and the Coronado Philharmonia Orchestra.

Juliana Quiñones is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and has directed the music program at Sage Creek since 2016.  During her tenure, she has taught Choir, Instrumental Music, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and String Orchestra. She also advises several student groups and clubs, including the Jazz, Junior Joy Givers, Tri-M Honor Society, and most recently Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer (through the Carlsbad Unified String Collective).

She holds an A.A. in Fine Arts from Riverside City College and a B.A. in Instrumental Music Education from CSU Fullerton, where she specialized in French horn. An active performer, Ms. Quiñones plays horn with the MiraCosta College Symphony, the Quiddity and Giocoso Wind Quintets, the Moonlight Amphitheatre Pit Orchestra, and freelances throughout San Diego County.
