WHAT DOES AN ELEMENTARY COUNSELOR DO? 

Our goal is to ensure that all students leave Calavera Hills Elementary School with the attitudes, knowledge, and skills to be successful in middle school, high school and in their post-secondary endeavors. In order to help with the development of these skills, we will provide on-going monthly activities to inform students of our monthly themes in academics, social-emotional development and college/career.

*MONTHLY CLASSROOM LESSONS*

As a School Counselor, I provide monthly in-class instruction to all students. The topics presented fall within the three ASCA domains: Academic, Social-Emotional, or College/Career.

*GROUP COUNSELING*

Some topics are presented in small groups for 4-6 weeks to ensure that our students are gaining the necessary tools to be successful at Calavera Hills Elementary School and in their transition to middle school.

*INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING*

Based on student need as a school counselors I provide one on one student counseling for social-emotional development for four to six weeks based on their needs. Please understand that school counseling services are based on students who are struggling with social or academic areas within the school setting.
