The mission of the Educational Technology Department is to support students, educators, administrators, and families with the effective integration of technology within their various learning environments so as to enhance student achievement and engagement.
Technical Support (or Tech Support, sometimes also referred to as the "boxes and wires" side of things) is dedicated to making sure that all devices are ready to go (hardware and software), connected to the internet (if applicable), and are secure. They also oversee the distribution and management of all technology.
Educational Technology (or Ed Tech) is focused on the use of technology (via apps, tools, products, etc.) to enhance learning, pedagogy, and instruction. Our goal is to see technology integrated into the curriculum and used as a tool to increase learning and engagement.
Both departments work hand in hand towards the goal of ensuring that teachers and students have access to the technology that is needed AND know how to best use it in their learning adventures.
