Ms. Hall has been the Orchestra Director at Aviara Oaks Middle School since 2007 and Carlsbad High School from 2007-2014. She has enjoyed many festivals and concerts with her “orchestra family," most notably her annual performances at Disneyland and trips to Carnegie Hall in April of 2009 & 2014. She loves the opportunity to be teaching where she grew up! She began playing violin through the Suzuki method, had incredible private teachers in Bridget Dolkas & Hernan Constantino, joined her school orchestras under the direction of Gunnar Biggs, and participated in SDCYO where she toured cities in England, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Australia, and New Zealand with the Symphony. Marina graduated in 2007 from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, participating in USC's Symphony and Chamber Orchestras as well as student teaching under Richard Meyer and Jack Taylor. She was Program Coordinator for the Thornton Outreach Program, working with the Midori Center for Community Engagement and House of Blues Guitar Masters program. She continued her studies at USC while teaching full time, graduating with a Masters in Music Education in 2011. She has had the privilege of playing violin with Randy Newman, Bobby McFerrin, Robert Mann, Burt Bacharach, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Vince Gill, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, John Legend, Isaac Slade, and Sara Bareilles, amongst others. She was also honored to be AOMS’ teacher of the year in 2015, was the SDUSD Honor Orchestra Director in 2015 and was the inaugural CMEA-SBS Honor Orchestra Director in 2014. In her free time, Marina enjoys playing violin for musicals at Vista's Moonlight Amphitheater, horseback riding, enjoying Carlsbad's beaches with friends & family, and being a mom!
