Welcome to Ms. Hetrick's science website!
I am so excited to be your science teacher this year! 3-5 science is held in our amazing thinkering lab and you will have science 3 times a cycle. We learn science by building, tinkering, creating, experimenting, questioning, journaling, collaborating, getting messy, making explosions, and having fun! You are ALL scientists and I cannot wait to explore all things science with you! "It's... SCIENCE!"

A little about your science teacher:
I am so excited to get to know all my students and families this school year. I was born and raised in Ohio and have been living in the Bay Area for the past 5 years. I attended Bowling Green State University where I received my B.S. in Education, specializing in science education. I have a true passion for teaching elementary science and believe all my students are scientists! I am thrilled to share my excitement for science with my students.

When I am not wearing my science safety goggles and making things explode, I enjoy being outdoors, exercising, and spending time with my family and new puppy, Gus.

This is my fourth year at Carey. Before my time at Carey, I taught science at Rooftop Elementary in San Francisco. I love teaching at Carey because my students are curious, joyful, and kind. I look forward to learning, laughing and growing together as scientists this year!
