College Credit Plus is a dual enrollment program for students in grades 7-12.
Students have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit for courses at potentially no cost to the family.
Students and their parent/guardian(s) must complete the below steps (every year a student participates in the CCP program) in order to be eligible to participate in the College Credit Plus program.
Step 1 - CCP Informational and Counseling Presentation
Our annual CCP meeting is VIRTUAL again this year! Students and their parent/guardian(s) should view the presentation to the right to understand the rules, consequences, and procedures to participate in the program for the coming school year.
Step 2 - Complete the Attendance Form
Step 3 - Complete the Intent to Participate
Step 4 - Apply to the College or University
Application procedures for local colleges and universities can be found in the presentation on Step 1.
Students may work with any college or university they wish.
Carey currently offers 5 CCP courses in house (College Alg, Stats, Calculus, Comp I, & Comp II) through the University of Findlay.
Step 5 - Additional Steps - Must Be Done Each Year
Send your high school transcript!
Use Parchment to request a transcript to be sent to each CCP school a student plans to attend. You can access Parchment by Clicking Here.
Testing/Placement Scores
Students may be required to show they are college-ready for eligibility and admission. Students may also need a placement score for Math and English scores. Students must send the test scores to the college/university of their choice.
Advising Meeting
For seated Carey courses (College Alg, Stats, Calculus, Comp I, Comp II), students will indicate these during the scheduling process at Carey. For online or on-campus courses, students will need to set up an advising meeting with the college or university of choice to select and register for courses. It is the responsibility of the student to let Mrs. Darby know if there is any counselor paperwork to fill out to complete the application.
Turn in Your College Schedule to Mrs. Darby
Once you have completed course registration, this helps ensure that students do not exceed credit hour limits, are able to participate in sports and clubs, and help us update your high school schedule.
