Prospective student participation to NSF-REU proposal at Georgia Southern University

We are pleased to announce that the Georgia Southern REU Site “Propulsion, Aerodynamics, Materials and Controls of Aerial Vehicles” has been funded, for a period of three years, by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense and is open for applications from interested students.

The program will be an interdisciplinary research experience for freshman to senior engineering students in the areas of aerospace, propulsion, aerodynamics, materials and controls of aerial vehicles. The program will stimulate students’ interest in conducting research, and develop their understanding of interdisciplinary concepts through hands-on learning, STEM problem-solving skills, and enhance their ability to apply theoretical concepts to research problems. The program is designed to promote independence and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a highly diverse team.

Applications are currently being accepted and will close on March 31, 2023 for the upcoming summer. The program will run between May 15, and July 23, 2023. We encourage students to apply early to ensure they have time to gather the requisite document package needed to complete their applications. Students will receive a stipend of $6000 plus support for travel and materials ($300), subsistence ($860), and housing ($500) for the 10 weeks of the program.
