Senior Checkout (starting May 14th at 9:00 AM)
Senior checkout is the FINAL STEP for graduation. You will need to pick up the checkout form in the Counseling Center (available NOW!).
TO DO:
Get signatures and final grades/citizenship from ALL of your teachers. You can do this all week, but please be considerate and do not interrupt their class.
Double-check: return your parking pass, work off PRBs, work off citizenship, pay all school/cafeteria fees, clean out your locker, return any library books, complete the exit survey. (Many of the signatures on the bottom are PRE-FILLED. You only need to get an official signature if the box is blank.)
To get your graduation tickets, you must have the checkout form filled out COMPLETELY (all signatures top and bottom). Mrs. Abbott is the FINAL signature. Once she has signed, you can pick up your tickets.
On Thursday, May 14th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, you will bring your COMPLETED check out form to the library. Mrs. Abbot will be there for final signature and Mrs. Baker will be there to give you your tickets.
(You CAN still checkout after May 14th, but it will be easier to get it done that day.)

Tickets Are Required! (and FREE)
BUT, all student fees must be paid, all Attendance "PRBs" must be taken care of, and any "U" citizenship marks must be worked off before tickets can be picked up.
Tickets will be given out starting at 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Senior Checkout. Tickets are given to graduates only. If you can't be there on Thursday, you can still check out and pick up your tickets after that, no problem!
Each graduate will receive 6 tickets for the bleachers.
(This number varies from year to year depending on the number of graduates.)
If you do not need all 6 bleacher tickets or if you are looking for more bleacher tickets, we invite you to reach out to each other through your personal networks and socials. To request extra tickets, see information below.
Anyone with a heartbeat attending graduation needs a ticket. (Yes, that means toddlers.)
Graduation will also be livestreamed via ETV,
so unlimited additional family and friends can watch online.
Remember: ETV Livestreams graduation so more people can participate in graduation.

Extra Tickets on the Grass Terraces
These tickets are also FREE, but seating will be on part of the grassy terraces next to the bleacher seating. Please be aware that those tickets require the guest to bring their own seat (like a folding camp chair), and the view may be limited, but it does allow up to 2 additional people to attend.

Dress Code
For Families: This is a formal/serious event marking a major rite of passage for students. Please dress accordingly to show respect to students and the event. We recommend best dress. (Please no spike heels - help us protect the expensive track surface!)
For Students: This is a formal/serious event. Dress to celebrate your success! Best dress = Clean and Neat.
Boys should have a collared shirt and your nicest pants. Girls may wear dresses/skirts/nicest pants.
NO flip-flops will be allowed (tacky).
NO spike heels (they can damage the track and sink in the grass of the field).

PRBs/Attendance Probation
If you have PRBs (Attendance Probation), you need to attend ATTENDANCE SCHOOL ASAP. Each session costs $4 and needs to be paid in the Main Office when you sign up for attendance school. See the details in the document "Seniors on Attendance Probation."
Communication:
Text messages will be sent out through the school via THRILLSHARE. Be sure you have phone numbers on file in PowerSchool so you don't miss important information.
How do I know if I'm "walking" at graduation?
In order to participate in the graduation ceremony (or "walk" at graduation), in addition to having all the credits needed to graduate, all fees/fines need to be paid, all PRB's need to be taken care of, and all U's (citizenship) need to be worked off.
Check with Mrs. Abbott (senior counselor) if you have questions about credits or U's. See Lori Oliver in the Main Office if you have questions about fees/fines.
Bleacher Seating (Yellow and White Tickets)
Students will meet in the Main Gym and then enter the football field. Graduates will be seated on the track. Family and friends will be seated on the bleachers. Please be punctual. Seniors walk out promptly at 7:00 PM.
Young children need to stay with families. Please be considerate of those around you (sight lines, etc.) because everyone is there to see someone important to them.
Please do not bring food/drink into the stadium.
Restrooms are located by the main gym.
Handicapped Access
There is limited parking available for those with handicapped tags. For wheelchair access, there is space at the top of the bleachers. If you have special circumstances, please contact the school.

Diplomas
The Carbon High School Graduation is a very important ceremony. In order to reduce distractions and maintain the order and professionalism of the proceedings, we must clarify expectations regarding how this ceremony is to be conducted. Only individuals sitting on the stage and wearing graduation regalia will be allowed to hand out diplomas. This will include: Carbon High School Administration, District Administration, School Board Members, and Carbon High School teachers.
Official diplomas and covers will be available for pick up at the Concession Building immediately following the graduation ceremony.
Pictures
Students are welcome to take pictures while they are gathering/waiting in the gym before graduation starts.
Information regarding professional photos will be provided at the top of this same website following graduation.
After Graduation
The football field area will be open to students and families to mingle and gather for ONE HOUR following the conclusion of graduation ceremonies. Please feel free to mingle, take pictures, and celebrate during that time. You can also pick up diplomas and leave for individual family celebrations or Graduation Spectacular. Please be smart and safe!
Graduation Spectacular (Grad Spec) - May 19, 2026 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Tickets will be on sale at CHS during lunch (people will be here every day during lunch selling tickets).
Cost is $20 if you buy your ticket ahead of time at the school. $30 if you buy a ticket at the door (plus waiting in line).
Caps & Gowns

EVERYONE wears the SAME cap & gown - blue/white combo. (Even though it might show a solid blue gown on the Jostens website, the actual cap and gown is the blue/white combination in the picture to the left.)
Caps & gowns are ordered at the beginning of the school year and delivered in April.
Be aware that the picture here on the website shows a solid blue gown, but the actual gown has white accents on it. Everyone wears the same gown.
If there are seniors who don't plan to "walk" due to economic hardship, please contact the school.
DO NOT decorate your cap! Caps should all be PLAIN for the graduation ceremony.
(If you'd like to decorate it AFTER graduation, you are more than welcome to do so, but please do not embellish anything for graduation.)
CORDS
Cords are awarded for Honors (gold for GPA 3.5-3.74) and high honors (blue/white for GPA 3.75-4.0). Seniors who qualify for these cords will receive their cords at checkout when they pick up tickets.
Other extracurricular cords are given by clubs and organizations. Talk to your teacher/coach/counselor for information about those.
