Background

In planning since July 2009, the first TEDxLeeds was held at Leeds Met’s newly opened Rose Bowl on 10th September 2009; chaired and curated by Imran Ali, introduced by Herb Kim and attended by around 150 delegates.

The second of a five-city TEDxNorth tour, running from August to October 2009, in Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle and Manchester.

The evening was divided into three sessions – focussed on TED’s themes of technology, entertainment and design; pairing each of our iconoclastic thought leaders with a short screening of our favourite talks from the TED archive.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event are called TEDxBradford, where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDxBradford events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised.
TEDxLeeds is hosted and produced by LSxDesigned by CARBON in BRADFORD.
