E-bike Rodeos
Kids of all ages can learn the rules of the road for bicycling, get safety tips for e-bikes, and practice their skills on a safety course. Bike repairs and maintenance will also be available. Learn more at www.octa.net/ebike.
Bring your e-bikes and helmets to one or both of the safety rodeos near you:

Moulton PTA is seeking families to help make our International Fair a success! We need families who would be interested in creating and staffing a booth for their country of choice. The booth can showcase anything you would like from that country - including arts, music, food samples, and more. Kids will have the opportunity to visit the booths and get stamps on their "passport" at the event.
If you are interested in hosting a booth, please fill out this form by Friday, May 3rd. The Fair will be held three weeks later on Friday, May 24th after school on campus.

Families, if your student will be absent please email MOULATTENDANCE@capousd.org or call 949-234-5987 to clear your child's absence. Be sure to speak clearly, leave your student's name and teacher, as well as a REASON for their absence. All absences must be cleared within 72 hours.
class interruptions
While we understand students may forget items before school, we can't guarantee they will be received in a timely manner.
Please encourage your child to double check that they have their belongings before school to avoid interrupting instructional minutes.
Please remind your student to check during their break and email your student's teacher to inform them.
We can't interrupt instructional time to call a student to the office. All belongings and messages will be delivered during their break.
Thank you!
gate reminders
Due to safety reasons, our gates will be opened at 7:30am. Please do not attempt to open or go through the gate prior to 7:30am.
If you need to get onto school campus when the gates are locked, you must enter through the office.
volunteer reminder
As a general rule, younger siblings should not accompany parent volunteers to school when they are volunteering. Pre-schoolers and younger siblings can be a distraction to students, staff, and parent volunteers in the classroom. Additionally, younger siblings need to be supervised carefully for their own safety in the school environment. Some of the equipment that is used by volunteers should not be accessible and is not safe for pre-schoolers (laminating machines, paper cutters, scissors, staplers, copy machines, etc.)
24-25 School year registration
Please spread the word to families of NEW students that registration for the 24-25 school year starts on Monday, January 29th. We encourage all families to register early as spots fill up quickly!
Begin registration here, but no earlier than January 29th: https://sites.google.com/a/capousd.org/online-new-student-enrollment/
**Currently enrolled TK students DO NOT need to re-register for next year. They will automatically roll into their home school for Kindergarten.
If you have had an address change outside of Moulton boundaries, you must apply for SCHOOL OF CHOICE to remain at Moulton next year.
Application Window: January 29, 2024 to March 1, 2024
Notifications: Notification: Approval/Denial emails will be sent out on or about April 12, 2024

Tuesday and Wednesday- May 28th and 29th- Final Hawk Shop of the year!
celebration book club
Celebration Book Club is back! This valuable PTA-sponsored program helps ensure that new books are added to our school library every year, while also creating a lasting legacy of your student’s time as a Moulton Hawk.
When you purchase a Celebration Book Club book to honor your student’s birthday or recent accomplishment, a commemorative sticker plaque is placed in the book with your student’s name, date, and celebration message, and your student gets to be the first to check the book out from the library. The book will be presented to your student during Thursday morning flag assembly, and they can enjoy the book at home for a few weeks before returning it to the school library.
Please email celebrationbook@moultonpta.org to receive a current list of our Celebration Books from which to choose; or, a grade appropriate book can be selected on your behalf. New this year, we can also allow your student to come to the library and pick a book from our collection themselves! The Celebration Books are hand-picked by Moulton’s librarian, and available on a first come, first served basis. All Celebration Library Books are $25. Purchases must be placed and paid for by the Friday before you want the book presented to your child. Thank you for supporting our library and the Celebration Book Club!
morning arrival reminders
Please be aware that some families have been dropping off too early at school. If you come before 7:30, please stay in the car until then. We do not have teachers on duty until 7:30am. When excusing your child from your vehicle, please walk them to the stairs to ensure their safety.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
change of residency
BP 5111.1(d) DISTRICT RESIDENCY: Parent/legal guardian must notify the school within two weeks of a change of residency within the school calendar year and provide the school with the requisite proof of residence. Failure to notify may result in an immediate transfer to the student’s new school of residence. Requests to remain at the Students school site for subsequent school years may be addressed through the School of Choice application process.
traffic reminder
PLEASE do not park or leave your vehicle in the drop/off pick-up zone. This causes traffic for all vehicles trying to move through the line. Thank you!
hawk expectations
Please review Moulton's Hawk Expectations here: Hawk Behavior Plan
we're wild about...
attendance!
tardy letters
Tardies interrupt the classroom and interfere with the learning process.
Please be aware that district tardy email notifications are automatically sent to parents if your student is tardy.
If your student has reoccurring tardies, you will begin receiving tardy letters stating district follow-up is required.
Remember, if your student received ZERO tardies during the trimester (starting 9/1) they will receive a PUNCTUAL POPCORN treat!
Absences
NOT GOING TO BE AT SCHOOL…?
Call the attendance line @ 949-234-5987 or email moulattendance@capousd.org for any absences!
Absences can only be excused within 72 hours (if we have not received a call within 72 hours, the absence will be unexcused).
independent study
If it is necessary for parents to keep their children out of school for up to two weeks (minimum of three days) to travel or attend some special event, the District requests that an independent study agreement is set up between the child and the teacher.
The agreement provides children with lessons and activities to complete while away from school and helps to ensure that the students do not fall behind in their studies. The study agreement is given to the child and should be returned to the classroom teacher upon return. Parents should notify the office at least five school days prior to the first day of a child’s unavoidable absence from school for reasons other than illnesses.
All requests must be submitted to the front office.
