Mr. Jimia Brantley
Mr. Jimia Brantley better known as "Coach Brantley", is a native of Brunswick, Ga, where he was a Basketball and Football standout. He received All-State Honors, ranked as one the top Athletes in the State of Georgia in 1995. Coach Brantley received a full Football Scholarship to Fayetteville State University, where he gained All-American Honors and ALL CIAA First Team in 1999. Coach Brantley started his Coaching career in 2000 with the Cumberland County Boys & Girls Club, where he started a basketball team for girls and boys. Later, he became a part of the coaching staff at Spring Lake Middle School in 2010, where he coached Boys/Girls Basketball, Football, and Girls Softball. While at Spring Lake Middle School his teams won several Conference Championships and County Championships in basketball and football. In 2015 Coach Brantley was hired as the Assistant Basketball Coach for the Douglas Byrd Lady Eagles Varsity Basketball team. Coach Brantley founded a non-profit organization named Helping Young People Elevate Inc. “H.Y.P.E”. Through H.Y.P.E he began a travel ball organization so that his son, and daughters could have a team to play for during the summer months. H.Y.P.E went on to win The National Travel Ball Association National Championship in its inaugural summer season. In 2022-2023 Coach Brantley was a part of the coaching staff at Terry Sanford High School; while with the Lady Bulldogs they had a record of 41-2, with two regular season championships, two holiday championships, and two conference championships. Coach Brantley is a USA Gold Certified Basketball Coach with the USA Basketball Association. Coach Brantley also serves as the Assistant Principal & Athletic Director for Capitol Encore Academy.
