This summer you should take the opportunity to research your new project subtheme theme in response to 'Society' using the possible themes document. Choose 2 to 3 themes.
DO NOT CHOOSE A THEME YOU HAVE EXPLORED PREVIOUSLY!
You should gather research for each theme from; the internet -artists' websites, gallery websites, articles, blogs, books, galleries/museums (if you are able to visit), magazines, whilst creating your own sketches, photographs and studies in different media in response to the themes.
Bring along all your research and studies/photographs to the first lesson in Sept, as you will select the best work with your teacher to formulate the start of your unit 10, where you will explore the characteristics of particular art specialism.
'Specialisms– You will review what the different media and techniques you explored in previous units (1-9) of 2D&3D; visual language, materials, processes and technical skills in Art and Design with a continual development of research, critical and contextual skills. You will be introduced to sample tasks relating to each specialism and students will then, choose a specialism based on the areas of strength and interest stemming from this review to develop their confidence in a particular specialism. These tasks will be concerned around responding to the theme of ‘Society’.
Unit 9:
Please remember as discussed in online lessons and lessons in school, you should collate university course/apprenticeship courses related to the creative arts and write your comments /views on these. Think about your aspirations and career interests following the course and what entry requirements you will need to be attain to progress following the UAL course.
This is for your unit 9 and you should bring this with you in September to your first lesson to hand in to Miss Patel (this could be a digital folder containing all these documents in your googledrive UAL folder if preferred.)
