Watch this video tutorial by Tate for step by step instructions on how to create a drawing in the style of Paula Rego, an artist who is particularly known for her paintings and prints based on storybooks. If you don't have all the materials suggested, just use whatever you can find. Thick paper is best, but any paper will do if you are careful. If you don't have pastels, use crayons or even mixed media, such as colour pencils, watercolours and chalk. Get creative! You can replace the fixative spray with hairspray when spraying your work in between layers. If you do this send us the final result to be featured in our best work gallery!
In this presentation made for the Weekly Art Challenge 3, we give you plenty of ideas to create a piece of art in an unexpected place. If you do any of these send us a photo to be featured in our best work gallery!
Explore this presentation to find out amazing ways to use basic materials you should be able to find around your house to create incredible and original art!
