They provide support and resources for parents and caregivers whose children (up to age 26) may be experiencing a variety of challenges ranging from social and emotional to behavior and mental health struggles, inclusive of learning disabilities, autism and substance use disorders.
Linking families of children and adults with disabilities or special needs
Community Links connects individuals and families to their local community on a daily basis. The primary objective of Community Links is to “link” individuals and families with everyday community learning opportunities. Adult Individuals can find resources from early childhood development, school IEPs and transition, to self-advocacy and employment, and beyond.
A helpline for families in kinship care situations, including grandparents raising their grandchildren because of the opioid crisis. Kinship Navigators will connect grandparents and other relatives who are raising children with resources such as health, financial, and legal services, support groups, training, and parenting advice. They help families locate physical or behavioral health services, enroll the child in school, find support groups, and other services designed to help caregivers.
