Ms. Batalla has a degree in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and studied conducting with Dr. Emily Threinen and Dr. Damon Talley.

Ms. Batalla has 6 years of teaching band, but also has taught orchestra and general music throughout her career. Her goal as an educator is to provide her students with all the necessary tools and knowledge in music, to perform diverse repertoire, and to leave with a strong foundation and understanding of music through performance.

As a conductor, Ms. Batalla has worked with distinguished conductors such as Dr. Mallory Thompson (Northwestern), Dr. Michael Haithcock (University of Michigan), Dr. Steve Davis (UMKC), Professor Robert Reynolds, and Dr. Kevin Sedatole (Michigan State) during summer conducting symposiums. She had the opportunity to conduct the United States Army Band in the summer 2016 and served as the Wind Symphony Conductor of the Youth Orchestras of Prince William for the 2016-2017 school year.

Ms. Batalla just left her home in Fredericksburg, VA where she had a very successful clarinet studio where her students placed in top chairs in county/district bands and were All-State participants. As a performer, she has experience playing in wind, chamber, orchestral, and pit ensembles and is a huge advocate of live music.
