Contemporary Literature

Welcome to Contemporary Literature, a new class in the Upper School English department!

Our Essential Question for the semester is:

How do contemporary authors address modern issues in society?

We'll be exploring this question using two texts:

• Dig by AS King (Amazon link)

• Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond (Amazon link)

As your final project, you'll choose a book to read that deals with a contemporary issue and unpack how the author addresses that issue.
