My time at CFA began as a parent volunteer helping with costumes on the Middle School Musical production of Seussical, Jr. in the winter of 2008. In subsequent years I became more involved with the theater productions. In 2013, I became a full time employee and have been the Theatre Production Coordinator for the last several years. My primary responsibilities are as the costume designer/wardrobe manager, administrative coordinator and technical theatre and design assistant. After offering an Independent Study for several years to students interested in sewing, I am excited to offer the Sewing and Fashion Design class again for the 2022-23 school year.
My love of sewing began at an early age (5). My grandfather worked for Singer his entire career and supplied me with all of the tools and supplies I ever needed. I used sewing to make spending money in high school (think 80's hair scrunchies) and college (mostly alterations). I designed and sewed my own wedding dress and had my own sewing business (Sew What) specializing in window treatments and bedding for nurseries and children's rooms.
My involvement in the theatre department is a direct result of my three children (Ellen '14, Megan '16 and Eric '18) and their time on the CFA stage. I am truly fortunate to have a job that inspires my creativity and allows me to work alongside amazing colleagues and students.
