Wordly Wise Overview
Wordly Wise is a research-based vocabulary curriculum for grades K-12 that teaches academic words through workbooks and digital platforms to improve reading comprehension and test-taking skills. The program uses a variety of exercises to provide contextual understanding, reinforce word usage, and build critical thinking skills, with a focus on words frequently found in literature, textbooks, and assessments like the SAT and ACT.
In our classroom, we will typically spend 4 days over 2 weeks reviewing each lesson. Words will be introduced with slides and discussion followed by practice through workbook activities, group and partner activities, and online games. Students will be assessed on their knowledge of each lesson's words with a multiple choice quiz every other week.
