Follow these directions to complete your Basic Facts:
You will research SIX things about the region and write them on the Basic Facts Cut Out:
Inside the map:
1. State names, in the correct locations. (not the abbreviations)
2. One professional sports team from the region & what sport it is. Write it in its state.
(example: Carolina Panthers, NFL - written in North Carolina)
3. One famous person from the region & why s/he is famous. Write it in the state.
(example: Frank Epperson, invented the popsicle - written in California)
Outside the map, inside the square:
4. The region's climate
Climate is the long-term weather pattern in a particular area.
5. Major geographical features
Geographical features are landforms and ecosystems... like rivers, oceans, mountains, valleys, forests, plains, etc.
6. One fun fact of your choice... the cooler & more unique, the better!

city & state where it is located (City, State abbreviation)

1. Choose a National Park from your region. Use the state filter to make it quick and easy to choose.
2. Fold and glue your flyer. Add information about the park:
Front
The front should have the park’s name, a drawing of it, and what state it is in.
Make sure to use color. You want your flyer to stand out.
Inside
Two landforms (a natural shape on the earth's surface, such as a mountain or a valley)
Three attractions. (camping, canoeing, hiking, biking…etc.)
Selling Point: Explain why people should visit the park. Use complete sentences
