We strive for math classrooms in which every student sees themselves as and is acknowledged as a doer of mathematics who applies critical thinking skills to real-world situations, and in which teachers honor the lived experiences of each student. We believe in every student’s right, responsibility, and access to exploring math through high-level math tasks. Every student will develop a deep mathematical understanding through engagement in high-level math tasks during which the teacher invites student voice, and facilitates productive struggle, collaborative work, and rich math discussions.
