What is the Artemis Mission?
NASA is sending astronauts back to the moon by 2024 as part of the Artemis Mission. This will be first time astronauts will be sent to the moon since Apollo 17 in 1972. It will be the first time a female astronaut will go to the moon. The astronauts of the Artemis team who will train and who could be chosen to travel to the moon were announced this past winter.

Astronaut Stephanie Wilson was born in Boston and went to high school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Astronaut Jessica Meir is a New Englander from Maine.
Astronaut Joe Acaba was a teacher before becoming an astronaut.
Mars Rovers
Mars Rovers
The Mars rover Perseverance launched from Earth on July 30, 2020 and landed on Mars on February 18, 2021. It took almost 7 months to get to Mars! A special helicopter named Ingenuity traveled with Perseverance. It is the first helicopter to fly remotely on another planet.
