The Workshop on Media Production is a five-week program divided into:
We encourage participants that are staying in the dorm to arrive by Saturday May 30, and plan on attending the orientation and welcome dinner on Sunday May 31st.

Audio Production (2 weeks - June 1 to June 12)
Break (1 week - June 15 to June 20)
Video Production (2 weeks - June 22 to July 3)
Daily schedule: 8am - 11:15am and 1:15p - 4:30pm

Participants will…
Become familiar with recording equipment for different purposes.
Produce a variety of audio products from start to finish such as dramatized scriptures, radio drama, a music production, a documentary and a radio spot.
Work with local participants in creating contextualized content.
Develop strong skills in multitrack editing in Audacity.
Have a chance to start their certification as SIL media specialist.
Participants will learn…
To make videos which promote local languages and know-how and engage viewers with the Scriptures.
To complete video projects from beginning to finish: 1 image-based video, 1 informational / interview-based video, 1 short film, 1 music video.
To use video recording equipment.
To develop videos through local participation on local issues / serving local needs.
To use a participatory film development process, from story development all the way to directing a camera crew and editing the film.
How to use video editing software to finalize video projects, from simple Bible stories to multiple track film editing.

The application deadline is March 30, 2026, and the application will close when the workshop is full. (Your application will be reviewed by the facilitator, and CanIL Admissions staff will contact you regarding your potential participation in the workshop.)
The registration fee for the Media Production Workshop is $500 CAD or $250 CAD for one module. Accepted participants must pay this fee by April 30, 2026, to confirm their participation in the workshop.
Other fees and costs include on-campus housing, food, and transportation.
