We are reading, Kids in Business. It is a nonfiction selection. We are examining how starting a business can help others. We will take the test on Monday, October 12.
Our spelling list is words with long o sounds. We will introduce the words and discuss the meanings of each word. There will be a paper on Monday. If it's not completed at school, it becomes homework. The students will also have a graded paper during the week to assess their knowledge of the word meanings.
We are working on Chapter 4. We will be reviewing how to write complete sentences with subjects, predicates, and correct punctuation.
We are starting Unit 2. We will continue to work on multiplication and division strategies. We are moving beyond basic facts, but the students should continue to practice basic facts at home to improve fact fluency. We will also work on place value skills.
