Meet Mrs. Parsons

At the beginning of each school year I tell my students that I fell in love with school on my first day in Mrs. Fitzterald's kindergarten classroom. Seeing her bulletin boards and stacks of construction paper captured my imagination, and I was hooked.

I attended Howland schools throughout my elementary, middle school, and high school years. After graduating from high school, I attended a private university in Tennessee for two years before transferring to Youngstown State University. While at YSU, I continued to pursue my degree in Elementary Education, later earning a master's degree in Middle Grade Education.

This year will mark my 32nd year of teaching mathematics at Canfield Village Middle School. It has been a joy to teach at CVMS, and I now have the distinction of having taught children of former students. I call them my "school grandkids."

My husband and I are longtime Canfield residents, and our sons graduated from Canfield High School. I enjoy camping, spending time with my family, and reading.
