Weekly Vocab Study of Greek and Latin Roots - new words on Monday; practice due Wednesday; quiz on Friday
Sentence Stalking - study language and grammar from mentor sentences on Tuesday
Journal writing - compose your thoughts and journal on Thursday
Current Events - read and analyze; assigned Friday and due Tuesday
Reading Workshop - read independently chosen (with teacher guidance as necessary) fiction and non-fiction and answer questions
Themed Short Stories - learn and practice reading and writing strategies in connection to the story
Writing - compose expository and argumentative essays using formal style guides
Poetry - analyze figurative language and poetic devices
About your teacher:
I started teaching in 1999 right here at CVMS!
My mother was a 3rd grade teacher and inspired me to pursue a career in education.
I graduated from Youngstown State University with both my Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree. Go Penguins!
