Students will use the scientific method to conduct an experiment and share their findings in a poster display. A tri-fold display is recommended, but not required.
This requires students to come up with a question, make a hypothesis (prediction) about what the answer will be, then design and perform an actual experiment to gather information to analyze. There are many acceptable variations of the scientific method.
Students will choose a concept or idea of interest to them. They will research and share their findings in a poster display. This category does not require that students do an experiment, because students are instead sharing an explanation. A tri-fold display is recommended, but not required.
For example:
How does an airplane fly?
How is a rainbow made?
Create a model of the parts of a flower.
Explain the contribution of a certain scientist.
