We want the students to come up with original ideas by presenting topics related to the title
“Smart City Innovations”
Making human spaces smarter and sustainable
Here you have some ideas that can help you to choose the topic for your project or research:
This is just a general list of topics to guide students in choosing a topic. However, students are encouraged to pursue original ideas to create their projects. If you are a teacher or parent, please help us to encourage them to use their imaginations, and they will have no problem coming up with an original idea.

Students from Grade 1 to 6 are welcome to register for this event beginning March 13th, 2025. However, they may want to begin researching and gathering information before this date. Parents can begin to register their child or team here.
Students can participate in one project. It can be either individually or in teams. A team of no more than three students may also submit a group project.
Projects registered to participate in the fair will compete for a place on the podium with 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the groups of G1-G3 & G4-G6.
Students who want to present as a team (no more than three students) must be registered only by ONE parent of the team. You will need to decide who will submit the registration and include all of your teammates' information.
At the entrance of the Wonder Fair, registered individuals and teams will receive their registration package. This package will include:
Student name cards and project labels
Map of the assigned table spots
If you have any questions or need clarification, don't hesitate to get in touch with Miss Anna.
Participants are expected to work on the projects at home, nevertheless some parts of it can be worked on during recess time or lunchtime to use the Innovation Center tools.
There are 2 mandatory sessions per team.
The tutoring times will be during recess, giving time for lunch (10 - 15 min.) and the rest for doubts or project ideas.
Tutoring conditions:
-All team members must be present.
-They must have permission from their teacher when necessary.
-They must schedule the space with Miss Anna.
-It is important to respect the advisory time, so the punctuality of the students is expected.
-If the advice is for the use of the Innovation Center space and its tools, students must bring all the necessary material.
The recommended size of a project display is as follows (posters can be bigger as long as they stand themselves):
Height: 110 cm Width: 60 cm
All project spaces will have a taped-off portion of a standard folding table for the display board. All project materials must fit on the table in the taped-off section. It is suggested that students have 3-5 copies of their abstracts at their booth to give to judges for review. Any photos on the display board should have a credit line below indicating where the photo was copied from or who took it. Also, if electrical power is necessary for your student’s project display or needs seating due to an injury or ADA requirements, please notify the IT team at least two weeks before the fair.
Canadian School Wonder Fair also prohibits the use of the following items at a project display:
• Cement and/or waste samples
• Taxidermy specimens or parts
• Preserved vertebrate or invertebrate animals
• Human or animal body parts or fluid
• Hazardous substances or devices
• Items that may have been in contact with hazardous chemicals
