Canada at Midnight is proud to present Widening Gyre, a Vampire: the Masquerade Chronicle written by Corrigan E. Cassidy and Vance Brews.
This new chronicle will begin at the Canada at Midnight convention on August 13-15, 2026, in Ottawa, Ontario!
We use the Laws of the Night (2023) system by By Night Studios for Vampire: the Masquerade’s fifth edition.
This is an alternate-history chronicle, in which the conflict arising from the murder of Hardestadt the Younger at the hands of Theo Bell at the Convention of Prague became a hot war with the Anarchs, costing many lives and leading to substantial instability in both Sects. As the war grinds to a stalemate and both sides jockey to try to find ways to get the edge, what terrible and weighty decisions will the players make -- and at what cost to their society and their souls?
All player characters are active members of the Camarilla in this focused story. Storytellers have the option of having their Domains be on the home front, dealing with the consequences of war far from home and local threats aside from the Anarch Movement, or the war front, where the Anarchs and Camarilla are actively engaged in battle. The choice between the two kinds of Domains allows Storytellers to tell all kinds of stories in the context of this grand setting.
The Chronicle Team’s activities in advancing the story will be focused on delivering this grand narrative with player input via activities and opportunities that will be publicly available and direct-to-player, with methods for local Storytellers to engage further at their discretion.
