Provides students with high school and career readiness as well as academic, personal, and social guidance. Also students will receive grade-level town hall sessions and workshops multiple times a year that include important topics and issues such as: child abuse, discrimination, harassment, bullying, etc. Additionally, the guidance counselor makes outside referrals for additional support for students and families.
Pretty Brown Girl (PBG) is an organization dedicated to educating and empowering Black and Brown girls by encouraging self-acceptance while cultivating social, emotional & intellectual well-being.
President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential. We have adopted this program at CAMS to mentor our young men.

Sits on the school's School Based Support Team (SBST) and often called on to help students, families, and teachers to address problems such as truancy, social withdrawal, overaggressive behaviors, rebelliousness, and the effects of special physical, emotional, or economic problems. The social worker works very closely with the guidance counselor, IEP teacher, School Psychologist and family worker to insure that the student needs are met.
Also an important member of the school's SBST, she specializes in assessing the student's present levels of functioning. Further the school psychologist will performs IEP evaluations.
The Student Government meets weekly with their faculty advisors to discuss student concerns and initiatives. They meet with the principal monthly to present their ideas for approval.
New York Edge is an approved vendor for New York City Department Of Education to provide College Access For All programming in public schools serving over 6,000 students.
