The Grade 7's have been learning about mapping skills. They have been tasked with creating a sketch map of a local area which includes street names, places of interest (hotels, restaurants, schools etc), including the cardinal points on the map, calculating the distance and creating an accurate scale. (They used Strava and Smart watches to calculate this)
(They may also have enjoyed being out and about in Camps Bay too!)
We are so grateful to those parents that have chosen to make donations to our school to assist us in achieving specific objectives which are included in our strategy. If you are in a position to be able to make a donation and you feel you would like to do this, you are welcome to contact Mr Storey and discuss this. A Section 18A tax certificate can be issued providing the donation meets the criteria set out for this purpose.
We were treated to some fantastic music from our High School this morning at assembly. We love their visits and always enjoy their performances. We also had two debut performances this morning with Vasco Anderson and Jerome Collins on keyboard.
Aria Moore showed her talent on vocals with her debut solo singing thrilling the audience.
Please note that it is enrolment season with the WCED. If you know people who are interested in our school, please encourage them to apply.
LET’S MAKE WAVES FOR OUR CULTURAL & SPORT DEPARTMENTS!
Get ready for the most exciting fundraiser of the year – the Swimathon is back with a splash! Whether you're a little fish or a seasoned swimmer, every lap counts toward raising funds for our amazing Culture and Sports Departments!
So, dust off your goggles and get ready for a big swim on Wednesday the 19th of March
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Swimmers can be sponsored per lap (Gr R-2 = 12.5m, Gr 3-7 = 25m) or sponsors can donate a fixed amount. Swimmers will have 20 minutes to swim as many laps as possible, so get those pledges rolling in! All grades will complete their laps during the school day on the 19th of March.
CORPORATE RELAY CHALLENGE!
Want to make an even bigger splash? Get a business (yours, a family business, or a local company) to sponsor a lane for R2500, and take turns swimming your hearts out. Teams of four can be adults or kids, but at least one swimmer must be a CBPS parent or pupil. The victorious relay team wins a terms worth of advertising on our prep ex campus wall and an afternoon of Padel for the four team members! Plus, all corporate sponsors are invited to display advertising material in the pool area for the week of the swimathon and get tax certificates for their R2500 donation entry fee.
If you know a business that would love to participate, please contact pta@campsbayprimary.co.za for an official sponsorship letter with all the important details.
