Jake Stein Greenberg is from Philadelphia, PA where he attended Quaker schools before earning a B.A. in Political Science from Northeastern University and a Master of Arts in Teaching at Lewis and Clark College. He taught history at Moorestown Friends School for over a decade and is now the Teaching and Learning Innovation Specialist at The Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA. Jake loves to travel, hike, hone his cooking skills, and most importantly, spend time in nature with his wife Lauren and their Australian Cattle dog, Hudson.
“My Onas camper journey began in 1990 ,and I was a counselor from 1997 to 2003. My closest friends today are still those I made on dingles, during prisoner’s base, and at Sheephole Day. As a counselor, I tried to foster experiences for campers so they could develop their own love of community, self-confidence, and appreciation of nature. Now as a board member, I am grateful to be able to help steward this special place to ensure Onas thrives now and for generations to come.”
Caronne first learned about Camp Onas through her Quaker communities. She is a member of Lehigh Valley Monthly Meeting and taught for 15 years at United Friends School in Quakertown. Her two children attended Camp Onas and her daughter returned to work on staff at Camp Onas. In 2014, Caronne began transitioning her career from Education to Mental Health. She helped build a multidisciplinary mental health team for children, adolescents, and young adults.
“My daughter thought of Camp Onas as her second home. My desire to serve on the Camp Onas Board is from a place of gratitude for the positive impact it has had on my children and so many children I have had the privilege of working with. My hope is to bring my knowledge, passion, and Light to this amazing organization to help it continue to grow and flourish!”
And a thank you to the board members who concluded their terms last year:
Scott Hoskins, Steve Kunkel, Carol Wengert
We appreciate your service and all you have brought to Camp Onas and its community!
