In math, we are working on double digit addition word problems to be followed by double digit subtraction word problems. For English Language Arts we are working on summarizing a story, text connections and writing a story to go along with a picture. In ELD we are working on different parts of speech. This week is adjectives. For science we are learning about natural selection.

Seesaw work: Check your child's seesaw account (have them go into it from clever on their chrome book). Click on their name and then look at the box that says activities. The number there shows how many assignments your child has NOT completed. Please have them complete these assignments as soon as possible.

Silent Reading: Have them read for 20 - 30 minutes each night. They can read to you out loud or silently. Have them retell you the story or ask them questions about the book like who the characters are, where the story takes place, what the problem and solution are.

Math Flashcards: Have students practice their addition and subtraction facts using flashcards that you make or buy at the dollar store. If they already know these then have them move on to multiplication and division.
