MEET OUR TEAM
Mrs. Alderman is a graduate of Longwood and Averett University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This is Mrs. Alderman's 28th year of teaching and 25 of the years have been at Leesville Road Elementary School. Her first teaching job was in Lynchburg City Schools where she taught first grade at RS Payne Elementary School. She enjoys building relationships with students and seeing them progress throughout the year. Her belief is that all students can be successful and her goal is to work hard to help all children reach their full potential. She is very happily married to the love of her life, Kevin Alderman, and they have been blessed with four amazing children. In her spare time, Mrs. Alderman enjoys camping, gardening, crafting, boating, going to the lake, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Smith was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. His wife Kellie is a stay at home mom. He has four children Ciara (15), Brennan (10), Jason (4) and Nico (2). He has one younger brother who lives in Atlanta. Chris went to Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg from 1st to 12th grade. Then he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Bridgewater College. Chris has 14 years teaching experience; 8 years teaching 2nd and 4th grades at Lynchburg City Schools,1 year teaching 5th grade at Leesville Road Elementary, and 5 years teaching 4th grade at Leesville Road. He has two part time jobs: assistant coach for varsity girls basketball at Liberty High School and pool maintenance for Pool Foolin' in the summer. In his free time Chris enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
Mrs. Tinnell is a graduate of Liberty University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. This is Mrs. Tinnell's 12th year of teaching. She began her teaching career at Rustburg Elementary and taught there for seven years. In 2016 she transferred to Leesville Road Elementary School. This will be her fifth year teaching 4th grade at LRES! She has teaching experience in first, fourth, and fifth grades. Mrs. Tinnell has been married to her husband, Jason, for 8 years and they have a beautiful four year old named Hadley. She is their miracle from God! In her spare time, she enjoys watching college basketball (March Madness!), chalk lettering, doing hair up-dos for weddings and special occasions, and singing on the Blue Ridge Community Church worship team. Mrs. Tinnell also loves spending time with her family!
Mrs. Ann Wagoner is a wife, mom, and artist. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.F.A. in Fine Art and Graphic Design, and then went on to UNC-Charlotte to acquire additional education to become a teacher. Mrs. Wagoner has taught in North Carolina and Delaware for a combination of six years teaching experience. This will be her seventh year of teaching and her first year teaching at Leesville Road Elementary. Mrs. Wagoner is married to a local Optometrist, Dr. Luke Wagoner. They have been married since 1995 and share two children, Arleigh and Sam Wagoner. Both of their children attend Brookville schools and are competitive swimmers with the LY Swim Team--the Piranhas. The Wagoner family has two large tabby cats, James and John. Mrs. Wagoner enjoys family time, traveling, and art.
