MEET OUR TEAM
Mrs. Alderman is a graduate of Longwood College where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and later pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Averett University. She has been teaching for many years with the majority of them being at Leesville Road Elementary School. Her first teaching job was in Lynchburg City Schools where she taught first grade at RS Payne Elementary School. She enjoys building relationships with students and seeing them progress throughout the year. Her belief is that all students can be successful and her goal is to work hard to help all children reach their full potential. She is very happily married to the love of her life, Kevin Alderman, and they have been blessed with four amazing children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, Mrs. Alderman enjoys camping, gardening, crafting, boating, going to the lake, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Bowles is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She and her husband Brian have 2 children, Hunter and Garrett. After teaching in Bedford County for three years, she chose to stay home with her children. While her children attended school at Timberlake Christian School, she was very involved as a volunteer, a substitute, an aide and as a classroom teacher. She joined the LRES staff as a paraprofessional for 2 years and is now entering her 2nd full year at LRES. In her spare time, Mrs. Bowles likes to stay active: running, working out, playing pickleball. She enjoys spending time outdoors and just hanging out with her family.
Mr. Smith was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. His wife Kellie is a stay at home mom. He has four children Ciara (15), Brennan (10), Jason (4) and Nico (2). He has one younger brother who lives in Atlanta. Chris went to Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Lynchburg from 1st to 12th grade. Then he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Bridgewater College. Chris has 14 years teaching experience; 8 years teaching 2nd and 4th grades at Lynchburg City Schools,1 year teaching 5th grade at Leesville Road Elementary, and 5 years teaching 4th grade at Leesville Road. He has two part time jobs: assistant coach for varsity girls basketball at Liberty High School and pool maintenance for Pool Foolin' in the summer. In his free time Chris enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

In my free time, I enjoy exercising, going to the beach, playing board games, and hiking. I also enjoy spending time with my family and fiancé!”
Mrs. Tinnell is a graduate of Liberty University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. This is Mrs. Tinnell's 16th year of teaching. She began her teaching career at Rustburg Elementary and taught there for seven years. In 2016 she transferred to Leesville Road Elementary School. This will be her eighth year teaching 4th grade at LRES! She has teaching experience in first, fourth, and fifth grades. Mrs. Tinnell has been married to her husband, Jason, for 12 years and they have a beautiful eight year old named Hadley. She is their miracle from God! In her spare time, she enjoys watching college basketball (March Madness!), chalk lettering, doing hair up-dos for weddings and special occasions, and singing on the Blue Ridge Community Church worship team. Mrs. Tinnell also loves spending time with her family!
