Kristi Patterson
Mrs. Patterson is a graduate of Longwood University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Bedford County and graduated from Jefferson Forest High School. Mrs. Patterson has been teaching for 18 years and has taught in Amherst County and Campbell County. She strives to create a classroom where everyone feels welcome and students are excited to learn each and every day. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Hunter and Weston, and loves to go camping.
Mrs. Ferguson is a graduate of Carson Newman College with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education and UVA with a M.A. degree in Administration and Supervision. She is from Lynchburg, VA, but was able to travel as a child as her father was in the military. Mrs. Ferguson will be entering her 27th year of teaching. She has had the pleasure of teaching 1st through 7th grades. She believes that every student is unique and has their own strengths and interests. Her goal is to create a supportive and nurturing environment where all students feel safe and encouraged to express themselves and take risks in their learning. She strives to foster a love of learning by making lessons interactive, relevant, and enjoyable. When she is not teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, Julianna, Molly and Allison.
Mrs. Mantiply is a graduate of Lynchburg College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Campbell County and graduated from Brookville High School. Mrs. Mantiply will be entering her 14th year of teaching in which 10 years have been in 1st grade and 3 years in 2nd grade. She was one of the lucky few that virtually taught at our own Campbell County Virtual Learning Academy. She believes in building lasting relationships with her students and creating a positive environment in her classroom. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, watching movies, enjoying water activities and camping with her husband and two children, Nitrous and Shelby. They love to attend car shows and drag strips as they are a car loving family.
Ms. Castellon (“Ms. C.”) is a graduate of Lynchburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Writing. She grew up in Farmville, VA and graduated from Fuqua School. This will be her seventh year at LRES and second year of teaching first grade. She strives for every child in her classroom family to feel welcome and nurtured, while building meaningful connections through learning and fun. Aside from teaching, Ms. C. enjoys camping with her daughters and dogs, going to the beach, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Ms. Buschmann is a graduate of Liberty University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She was born in Miami, Florida, but has lived over half of her life in Virginia. Ms. Buschmann will be entering her 22nd year of teaching. She has taught grades K through third. Ms. Buschmann strives to create a positive and safe classroom environment where students feel confident and are committed to learning. Her goal is to have every child know that they are valued, they can succeed, and she believes in them. Aside from teaching, she loves traveling, watching movies, going to amusement parks and waterparks, and spending time with family and friends.
