Mrs. Marriott started teaching music in Connecticut in 2009 after studying music education at the University of Hartford. She taught at several elementary schools, both in Connecticut and California, before teaching middle school instrumental music for three years in the East Bay.
This year, Mrs. Marriott is excited to collaborate with grade-level teachers to incorporate music into project-based learning units after five years of similar work at a k-8 charter school. Mrs. Marriott is looking forward to meeting the musicians at Steindorf in general music classes and middle school electives, as well as in choir and orchestral strings ensembles before and after school.
I’ve been teaching for 15 years in Connecticut and California:
6 years teaching elementary general music and choir.
3 years teaching middle school instrumental music
6 years teaching elementary general music, choir, and middle school music and elementary orchestral strings and choir.
Outside of school, you can find me:
Spending time with my husband, Tom...
...and our two cats, Tanooki and Roadie.
Singing with the Coventry Carolers at the Dickens Fair.
Playing roller derby with my team, the Supernovas.
