Happy Friday Room 18 Families!Â
Thanks for taking a minute to see everything the students learned about this week!Â
📚ELA:
-This week, students continued Unit 1 in Benchmark, which focuses on the essential question “How do we decide which resources we should develop?” Students focused on note taking this week, using annotations and graphic organizers to record information from the text. They took their notes and began drafting essays about the structure of corn. Students also drew diagrams to exhibit their knowledge of plant structures, which they will use as the cover to their essay.Â
🌏Social Studies:Â
-Students continued working on a lapbook to help them learn the different states and capitals. This week, we focused on the midwestern states & we began the Southwest region. Next Thursday, students will be assessed on their knowledge of the southwest region.
*Thank you to everyone for the postcards! Please continue to ask friends & family to send us postcards for The Great Postcard Race 2026
