Why teach primary grades?
The progress made in the lower grades is incredible, and it is exciting to foster and witness the students' growth. Also, younger students are entertaining. The children are (inadvertently) funny in many of the things they do and say!

Although I am originally from Massachusetts, I have been teaching at Bagby since arriving in California. During my career I have taught first, second, and third grades. Three times I have taught a combination class for grades 1 & 2, and twice I have "looped" and taught some of the same students for both first and second grade. Looping has been one of my most positive teaching experiences!
Additionally, since the first year of my teaching career I have done part-time private tutoring throughout the school years and summers. I have tutored people of all ages, from pre-K children to adults learning to read and write in English. Being an educator is the most rewarding job imaginable!
Earlier in life, I graduated from Boston College with both a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's in Elementary Education. I'm still partial to all things New England, and I am a huge fan of Boston sports.
